Leighton Green is a 16.58 hectare strategic development site at the western edge of Crewe, close to Leighton Hospital. The site is bounded by Middlewich Road, Pyms Lane and Minshull New Road.
Cheshire East Council owns the southern part of the site and it is allocated within the new Local Plan to be suitable for up to 400 new homes and community outdoor and recreation facilities. The northern part of the allocation is being promoted by Bloor Homes and Linden Homes. As part of the Local Plan allocation there is capacity to extend Leighton Hospital.
A public consultation was undertaken in July 2015, regarding proposals for the southern parcel of the site. The public exhibition was well attended and the information that was displayed at the event can be viewed here: www.leightongreendevelopment.co.uk.

The Garden Village at Handforth
Consultation was held in the summer 2016 on the ‘vision’ for The Garden Village. Stakeholders and the local community were asked what type of homes are required and what facilities they would like to see in The Garden Village. All feedback received has been taken on board and a Vision Document created. We are now working on a Supplementary Planning Document that sets out guidelines for the how the development will evolve to ensure a new exemplar community. Public consultation on the Supplementary Planning Document will be undertaken by Cheshire East Council in due course.
